SPECIALIST JEWELLERY & JEWELLERY REPAIRS
Many years ago, I remember my father, Paul, telling me that the value of a piece was not simply the quality of the gold or the stones with which it was set but what it meant to its owner. He would be very sad, today, to see the amount of broken or no longer fashionable jewellery being disposed of for derisory prices when, in many cases, with the advice of a truly experienced Jeweller, these could be restored.
Of course, there are always exceptions. Many modern imports are created by computer aided tools which push and anchor stones and settings into position. The whole item is then covered with a final heavy plating which covers a multitude of problems and is virtually impossible to work on by hand. In such cases, manufacturers generally choose to replace the piece completely.
Our aim, however, is to provide a restoration service as and where we possibly can. This consists of:
- Consultation and extensive examination.
- Discussion and an honest opinion.
- A definitive quote as to costs involved.
- A life time guarantee (providing the piece has not been abused) along with an examination and complimentary yearly cleaning.
Working with our Gold and Silversmiths, who have 40 years experience in dealing with a multitude of problematic pieces of jewellery from Georgian and Victorian to the modern day, we believe we can bring your much loved pieces back to life and give you many more years of pleasure.
